It involves managing the full data pipeline from ingesting raw flight data, decoding it into clean, structured formats, and delivering it to clients while ensuring the processing system's stability, performance, and maintainability.
Responsibilities
- Extract raw data from AWS S3 buckets, decode, transform, and load it into analysis tools to enable comprehensive data processing and insights.
- Designed interactive Power BI dashboards and data models to visualize complex data insights for stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and manage customized data pipelines optimized for the airline industry, ensuring reliable data flow, leveraging AWS Glue for ETL orchestration and AWS Redshift for efficient data storage and querying.
- Manage the creation and deployment of new functions and perform detailed testing and validation to guarantee high-quality outcomes.
- Plan and conduct frequent meetings with Product Owners and customers to discuss issues, get input, and promote new pipeline improvements.
- Proactive communication to quickly address complaints, fix problems, improve pipeline performance, keep lines of communication open.
- Actively identified risks and blockers and developed mitigation plans to keep progress on track.
- Manage and complete thorough data migration procedures for airlines, guaranteeing smooth changes with less disruption to operations as usual.
- Collaborated with other teams to integrate new aircraft data sources, enhancing the system’s ability to deliver real- time operational insights across multiple airline fleets.
- Implemented monitoring and alerting systems for data pipeline health using custom scripts and cloud-native tools, ensuring high availability and minimizing downtime.
- Developed automated validation scripts to ensure data integrity after each pipeline deployment, reducing manual checks and increasing delivery confidence.
Technologies
- Custom scripts: Python, Java.
- Cloud-native tools including AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting.
- Data models: designed in Power BI or within Redshift.
- ETL/ELT processes: implemented using Glue and possibly SQL.
